Jakarta, 9 October 2018 — DycodeX has collaborated with one of Indonesia’s largest telcos to trial bike tracking and sharing using NB-IoT technology. The trial was conducted at Monumen Nasional (Monas), Central Jakarta on October 9, 2018. This field trial is an effort by DycodeX to integrate NB-IoT connectivity in asset-tracking use case.

As the pioneer of IoT development in Indonesia, DycodeX strives to adopt new connectivity technology to our projects and products, including NB-IoT. It offers a wide range of advantages compared to its LPWA counterparts, such as lower power consumption, lower cost, wider range, and higher reliability. One of DycodeX’s flagship NB-IoT products is DytraX, a general-purpose tracker board applicable for various use cases. DytraX is Indonesia’s first locally developed, third-party tracker board using NB-IoT technology.

DycodeX team shows representatives from one of Indonesia’s largest telco provider about bike tracking using NB-IoT technology.

Despite being relatively new in the LPWA market, NB-IoT, or NarrowBand-Internet of Things, has been said to be the top choice in LPWA (Low Power, Wide Area) technology that is able to be reliably used in various use cases, from smart city or industrial. NB-IoT technology allows connection to a very large network of devices, up to 50,000, without compromising on power, cost, or network coverage.
